Nick Pedgrift has worked as an
entertainment lawyer for many years representing a diverse range of
clients from Adelaide Hall the first black American blues singer to
make her home in London and Bunny Wailer the last survivor of Bob
Marleys group the Jamaican who wrote “Catcha Fire” and Wayne County
the first Trans-sexual punk rocker. He took on representation of U2 after being invited to
their second ever London gig and Phil Collins, whose manager he met
in a Notting Hill cocktail bar and next to whom he was on
the front page of the Sun coming out of church after his wedding.
He was the lawyer for
much of the Chicago House scene artists Joe Smooth and Frankie
Knuckles and he took on film work with Alan Parker and "The Commitments" and
"Human Traffic" with the teenage Danny Dyer.
Nick has much experience in musicals including Riverdance with
Michael Flatley, and Barnum with Michael Crawford.
He has worked on many book deals and catalogues including "At the
Birth", the definitive account of David Bowie and TV work
revolving round the
celebrity culture of the 21stC representing Katie Price aka Jordan and Peter Andre
and cast members of TOWIE.
He represents a number of film, book and music publishing properties
including the James Bond original storyboards for the Daily Express,
the Swedish music catalogue that includes “Take the D Train” and
Alison Limerick’s classic “Where Love Lives”, part of the
Pretenders’ catalogue of songs included on their smash hit first
album and a seminal U.S. Hip-Hop and Soul catalogue. Nick is also
advising on a micro-brewery in Hackney and Streetsounds, the South
London radio station.
He spends his time between Notting Hill and Somerset.
